Macedon Pinot Noir (Straws Lane)

The Straws Lane vineyard was planted in 1987 and is situated on Mt Macedon at an altitude of 800m, one of the highest in the region. This wine is a delicate wine, typical of a Macedon cool climate Pinot Noir.

Bright clear light red.

Aroma:

Huge Strawberry and Cherry with subtle oak.

Taste / Mouth Feel:

A restrained style that lets the Macedon fruit and acidity speak for itself. Light smooth and creamy from start to end with some stalk and astringency tag teaming to a long but gentle finish. You can tell its ultra cool climate Macedon Pinot.

 

Wine Makers Note.

A pretty and delicate wine.

The grapes were de stemmed and filled the winery with smell of strawberries. The berries were cold soaked for 4 days and then fermented with a cultured yeast for 2 weeks.

Only 122 cases made.

Not fined. Not filtered.

Clone  70% MV6, 30% Mariafeld

12.5% alc.
